LinkShowOff Review: The Nofollow Text Link Ad Marketplace

You're going to want to subscribe to my RSS feed. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread - even better, in fact. You know you want to.

Linkshowoff

Tired of getting hit with the banhammer by Google for selling links? LinkShowOff is a fairly new advertising site that follows in the vein of programs like Scratchback because it offers blog and website owners the chance to sell nofollow text links to advertisers. In short, that means that Google won’t lower your pagerank for selling links through it.

ALRIGHT, SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
To sell links through LinkShowOff, you have to sign up, add your site to their listings, and put their customizable widget up (you can see it in my right sidebar). Unlike Scratchback, LinkShowOff actually has a marketplace for the sales of advertising which expedites the process of getting some cash (if you’re a publisher) or finding some quality advertising (if you’re an advertiser). You get payed a flat sum for each link displayed on your widget (a maximum of twenty links can be up at once). As more ads are purchased, older links are bumped off the widget and new ones appear first, allowing for a dynamic structure.

THE REFERRAL PROGRAM
In addition to selling links on your own site, you have the option of referring other publishers to the network. The rates are quite low at the moment - only one dollar for every person you refer that earns a dollar - but this low threshold could work at the moment because of the new nature of the program. If one was to refer a few hundred publishers to LinkShowOff that sold even one link, they could make a nice sum.

GETTING PAID
Payments are monthly with a flat fee of $3 per withdrawal, which is a nice change from horrible monopolies greedy companies programs like Text-Link-Ads which takes half of your profits. You can currently get paid through Paypal (speaking of monopolies…) once you reach the payout of $10.

WHAT ELSE…
LinkShowOff does have a few problems right now, though - namely the fact that there are no site statistics available for websites listed in the marketplace. Alexa rankings, Pagerank, and traffic should be present for each blog to create for a more open sales platform. In addition, the website looks unprofessional and Web 1.5: there are some grammatical errors, the FAQ is short and incomplete, and the site design is greener than Kermit (and it’s not easy being green).

IN SHORT,
LinkShowOff has potential but needs refinement. When more advertisers join, there should be plenty of ad sales (even as a new program, I’ve already had a link bought on my widget). If it gets a facelift and some extra features, it could be a winner.

Making Money Online With Dofollow Blog Comments

Remember the post about my method of building free high pagerank dofollow blog comments? I also promised a way to make some easy money from this, and Blog Badly delivers!

WHY YOU’LL MAKE MONEY OFF OF THIS
Blog commenting is currently a very “in” method of building links and people crave getting some high pagerank blog comments - in fact, some might even pay for it ;). That, of course, is the basis of the steps that follow.

HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH DOFOLLOW BLOG COMMENTS: THE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

  1. First, use the tools mentioned in my post about dofollow blog comments to find twenty or thirty (or even more. The more links you have, the more money you’ll make) high pagerank (PR3 - 7) internal dofollow blog pages.
  2. Organize all of the blog pages in a simple list. I suggest categorizing by blog niche and listing them from highest to lowest pagerank.
  3. Now there are two ways you can go from this: either sell the list or offer dofollow blog commenting services. Both methods are pretty good ways to make some quick cash, but the latter generally nets you more money (because you can sell each link for higher)

IF YOU WANT TO SELL THE LIST…

  1. Get onto a forum like Digitalpoint and start a thread promoting your list or just contact individual bloggers about your list asking if they’re interested. Remember to emphasize that the high pagerank pages are the ones you can actually comment on.
  2. Sell the list for any price between $5-$40 (depending on how many links and how high their pagerank is. Use your gut instinct.) Offer a few review copies for discounted rates if no one buys.
  3. Watch the money roll in!

IF YOU WANT TO SELL THE INDIVIDUAL COMMENTS…

  1. Again, get on Digitalpoint or ask another blogger if they’re interested in your service
  2. Sell your blog comments however you see fit. Remember to include a detailed report for your buyer and DON’T SPAM. No one likes spam. Your mother would be ashamed.

BLOG COMMENT RATES
If you’re not sure for how much you want to sell your individual blog comments for, try this handy dandy index!

PR     PRICE
1            $1
2            $2
3            $3
4            $5
5            $7
6            $8
7            $13
8            $18
9            $22
10         Where the hell did you find this? I mean… uh… $30?

So get out there and sell some comments! It’s literally the easiest way to make money online.

In Soviet Russia, Make Money Online Blogs Write You

After a Russian blogger decided to take inspiration from my post about marketing with homeless people and make his own inspired counter-post, I decided to check out hisSoviet Hammer And Sickle Money

blog and the Russian MMO niche as a whole.

FIRST THOUGHTS
Wait - Russians making money online? Are they allowed to do that? Don’t they distribute it equally amongst their comrades or something? Hopefully the KGB won’t come for me due to my comments (don’t worry, the fact that I’m Russian makes my blatant stereotyping okay).

Anywho:

LOTS OF RUSSIANS WANT TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE
ProfitHunter has ~1700 RSS subscribers which puts it at about the level of a B-list American MMO blog - not bad. In fact, after following a few links, I noticed there were many blogs with thousands more subsribers and fairly high Alexa rankings (though they seem to be judged unfairly, as my rank of 128,000 was the highest out of all of the Russian blogs I found, even though I’m quite sure I get less traffic). I still couldn’t find the “John Chow” of Russian MMO blogs, though.

YANDEX IS THE RUSSIAN GOOGLE. AND SO IS GOOGLE.
The posts I noticed covered statistics in both Yandex, Russia’s major search engine, as well as Google.

WORDPRESS IS THE WINNER
Plenty of Russian blogs seemed to be using Wordpress. Eat that, Blogger!

RUSSIAN MMO BLOGS AREN’T ALL THAT DIFFERENT FROM ENGLISH ONES
They have similar pillar posts: “Ten Habits Of A Successful Blogger,” “Making Money With [Insert Program Name Here],” “Five Innovative Ways To Market Your Site,” etc.

RUSSIAN COMMENTERS ARE CONSTRUCTIVE
Most people that comment on Russian posts add humour and fresh ideas. For example, my aforementioned post on using homeless people to advertise your website had the humorous suggestions of:

  1. Using old people that are on pensions and need money to help market websites
  2. Give small animals and dogs shirts with your blog URL on them - someone had already tried this, in fact.

They were far more amusing than most of the comments I see on American blogs.

FINAL REVIEW
I’m going to have to give these blogs another look: they’re quite interesting. If you want to experience a bit of culture, check out some Russian blogs! A word of warning, though - Babelfish is an awful translator. I tried it for kicks and here’s what I got:

Cries
Also good, true, not safest method. People can think that person, who yells “you go to [Vebmun] point RU and learn as to earn the money of on-line! ”, simply it descended from the mind :)

The Top Three Best Niches For Making Money Online Blogging

In our capitalist society, being a greedy bastard isn’t always bad. Money is what runs [insert your country here (unless you’re from a communist nation. If so, well, sorry!)]. In fact, renowned economist once said, “Give all of your money to Max Miroff and you will become rich.”Dollar Bill Sign

But I digress. Lets go back onto the point of great niches for making money online.

#1 - Get-Paid-To Websites
Blogging about websites with programs that pay users to complete offers is an extraordinary way to make money. That’s because these GPT sites (here’s an example) generally have referral program that get you a percentage of your referral’s, referral’s referral’s, and referral’s referral’s referral’s (are you starting to see a pattern?) earnings. In short, you get residual income (the fancy phrase for “becoming filthy rich”) from other people. This niche is also pretty popular with readers because people are ready to believe anything that involves them getting money online.

#2 - Product Reviews
This niche is profitable in three ways - affiliate sales and getting free products from companies that want their items reviewed. All you have to do is write about the latest cool gadgets or best kitchen spice racks to try and rack up some sales through your affiliate links. If you build up a reputation as a great blogger who has lots of readers, some companies could even send you some free schwag for you to write about as well as pay you to plug in their service or website. Now that’s the good life.

#3 - Make Money Online Blogs
The main reason this niche is profitable is because of all the affiliate programs surrounding it. Much like GPT sites, you can get paid a fraction of what your referral makes. Get your money for nothing (get your chicks for free?). Anyway - don’t you see all those big Make Money Online bloggers showing off their mad earnings? Exactly.

Now fulfill all your blogging dreams of extorting your readers with these amazing niches!

Phew, time sure flies by when you’re having fun blogging. In fact, it seems like just 30 days ago it was a month ago. Think about that statement for a while as I go and share the deepest, darkest secrets of Blog Badly’s growth (It’s alive!) and the expansion of my online empire (Proportionately to the rest of the world: about the size of my desk). Random Website I Should Be More Popular Than: Carl Ocab

ANALYSIS TIME
I’m still freaking poor. 9 bucks a day? That’s like working minimum wage for an hour and a half. Still, I suppose it’s adequate… for now. My goals will be to monetize Blog Badly better so that it earns at least 150 dollars in April, get 100 bucks from Triond, and get 100 bucks from other miscellaneous stuff.

Of course, talking about money first makes me seem like that’s all I’m concerned about. In fact, my ego inflates greatly when people read and comment on my work I believe that growing Blog Badly’s reach is, at the moment, more important than money. I’m hoping to break the Alexa top 100k within two weeks so that I can view their fancy graphs every day. Some more subscribers wouldn’t be too shabby either, hint hint.

Got A News Blog? Make Money Online With The Voxant Newsroom - A Review

voxant newsroom logoThe Voxant Newsroom is an interesting service that gives you money for placing a text feed ($0.50cpm), image feed ($0.50cpm), movie feed ($3.50cpm, but only if they watch a video), or all three (if you’re the sellout type) on your website (gratuitous parentheses statement). If you’ve got a news blog and want an easy, professional solution to getting free content, Voxant is what you’re looking for. It even PAYS you to take it in on your blog. It’s kind of like making someone pay you for the ability to guest write on your blog - awesome for you and generally bad for the poster with absolutely no drawbacks.

YEAH, SO WHAT?
So what? This thing is as revolutionary as sliced something! If getting paid to put a shiny relatively Web 2.0 feed up on your blog doesn’t float your boat, it’s also RELEVANT. That’s right, Voxant lets you customize your feed in so many ways that it’s mind-boggling to list them all, but I’ll do it anyway. You can:

  • Select your own keywords to use in feed selection
  • Select keywords not to show in a feed
  • Select phrases to use in feed selection
  • Select which news providers you want to use and which you don’t
  • Select local, national, or global news.
  • Select just how relevant to your chosen keywords results must be - it’s got a SLIDER for this.
  • Select the color of the feed (kinda. It only lets you choose between white or black for 160×600 sizes)
  • Select the size of the feed.

If that’s not enough selections for you, then… well, don’t use it.

RECAP
Voxant Newsroom pays you to put images ($0.50cpm), text ($0.50cpm), and video ($3.50cpm, only counts when a visitor views the video) on your website. They offer a wide variety of ways to customize your news feeds and pay by Paypal or check. It looks quite professional and the actual news is decent.

Make Mad Money Blogging - Rubicon Project Review

The Rubicon Project
Their slogan: make mad cash from ads. You’re going to have a lot of angry money.

After a long day of pretending to work, the last thing anyone wants to do is spend hours looking through the twenty ad networks you use (in vain) to monetize your blog. The Rubicon Project feels your pain, and it wants to cure it.

WHAT IS THE RUBICON PROJECT?
The Rubicon Project takes ads from hundreds of different advertising programs (Adsense, YPN, Adbrite, all that good stuff) and automagically optimizes them to do well on your blog. It detects which ads do well and gives them more impressions while rooting out the crappy ads and sending them to time-out so that they can cry in the corner. Things that are factored in to determining how to place ads are location, gender, language spoken, and more. In short, it’s like having your own personal ad managing secretary robot that makes you money.

WHAT’S THE CATCH?
Currently, there is no catch. The system is in beta testing and thus all of this comes at absolutely no cost to you. They will most likely make money by taking a cut of your profit, but since most publishers report a 50% increase in revenue you’ll still feel like an ad tycoon.

OH, AND IT LOOKS GREAT TOO
It’s true. The Rubicon Project is so well made that it’s only compatible with FireFox. Guess all those fancy reports, graphs, and optimization just overwhelm IE. So, if you still live in the stone age… sucks for you! Uh. I mean. I love all my IE viewers too - it’s just that, well, it’s not you. It’s me. And it’s the Rubicon Project. Have a picture of what you’re missing:

the rubicon project

Isn’t it beautiful? Just look at that blue map. And the bar things. And the circley thing with two shades of green. That, friends, is what ad programs are all about. That and the money.

So sign up for the Rubicon Project today and make some mad money blogging.

ADSDAQ Review - A Surprisingly Good CPM Network

ADSDAQ
What a clever play on words. Get it? NASDAQ -> ADSDAQ? Like the stock exchange? No? Yeah…

Does no one ever click your Google Adsense ads anymore? Is your 0.000138% CTR bringing you down? Then try ADSDAQ, the CPM program with a bunch of awesome features that will definitely bring you mad moneyz.

WHAT IS ADSDAQ?
ADSDAQ is a CPM (cost per mille [thousand for you Latin illiterates. Which is pretty much everyone]) ad program that lets you set your own price for the ads shown on your website. Want to charge a $2 CPM? You got it! Are you insane? Then set your CPM to $99 and let the money not pour in. The ability to set your own CPM works because ADSDAQ have advertisers that are willing to pay a certain amount of cash for ad spots.

WHAT’S THE CATCH?
Well, ADSDAQ doesn’t pay you for all of your impressions. Depending on how high you’ve set your CPM, you’ll monetize about 40-50% of your hits - which isn’t that bad, considering the secret weapon ADSDAQ has up its sleeves:

BACK-UP AD TAGS
ADSDAQ allows you to use other ad programs in conjunction with its own without breaking any rules! You can add in tags for any ad program you’re already using and whenever ADSDAQ can’t sell your own ads, they’ll perform a switcharoo and use the back-up ads instead! You can even set the ad rotation for your back-up ads.

Overall, you should definitely try ADSDAQ. Set a high CPM so that when you get paid you get paid well and add some backup tags to monetize every visitor.

Drench Your Site In Sponsored Posts: The Best Way To Blog

Paid To Post
Your blog isn’t a blog until you’ve used at least two of the three services mentioned above.

Sponsored posts - who doesn’t love ‘em? I mean, they get you money and in return the readers get… uh… errm… well, you get money!

WHAT IS A SPONSORED POST?
A sponsored post is a way to spice up your site by adding a badly-written review of a gambling website on it. You can also inform your readers about the benefits of getting a free credit report on disiznotscam.co.cc. In exchange, you are paid money. Money makes everything better.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Actually, there are quite a few. Here’s a list:

  1. The post topic is already pre-written for you. In fact, you can probably just copy a sponsored post off of another blog with the same links and use it as your own.
  2. Money.
  3. Err…. uh…. well… did I mention the money?

Okay, I give up. There are really no benefits whatsoever.
You know, there are actually so many reasons that I can’t write an adequate list. It would take too long.

IN SHORT
Sign up for as many sponsored review sites as you can. If you subsequently lose all readership, who cares? All these companies look at is your pagerank! Of course, if you write sponsored reviews you lose pagerank so… The system is completely flawed foolproof!

 Thanks, Nullamatix!

Net Audio Ads Sucks/Is Horrible/etc. - The Ad Program For When You’ve Just Stopped Caring

What could possibly be more exciting than visiting a website and having that soothing, deep voice of one of those dudes that does voice-overs for commercials come on for six seconds telling you to eat at Taco Bell? That’s right, absolutely nothing!

NetAudioAds is a new ad-serving program that plays short annoying messages for all of your readers to hate! They promise to monetize 100% of your traffic at around $10 per thousand visits ($10/cpm). Imagine going on a website with one six-second audio byte on every page. Wouldn’t that just be great?

Of course, there is one major flaw in NetAudioAds plan - everything about it. To help illustrate, I’ve created a very simple chart in which the effects of putting pay-per-play ads (that’s what they’re called, apparently) on your website with my blog as an example:

Net Audio Ads Sucks

Here are the three steps that will happen:

  1. You install the ad onto your blog. You are quite happy as you make five dollars on your first day!
  2. Your readers are harassed by the ad. They abandon you and leave your blog shaken in the corner, crying.
  3. You make enough money to buy a sandwich at the cost of your blog.

In short, participating in this program is like selling your readers.
